Stationery & Invitations

In Richmond: Two (2) service stationers cleared the pipeline in this market. That is a thin bench for peak Saturdays and for anyone planning a heavy day-of paper suite — programs, menus, escort and place cards, signage — so treat these listings as a starting point and expect to reach outward. The three labeled alternatives below the listings — commercial and quick-print shops around the metro — are the honest answer to point at for day-of pieces you can lay out yourself and have printed on paper stock, when a full custom studio is unavailable. Take a finished invitation to the post-office scale before you buy stamps for the box; a square envelope or a heavy card is a non-standard rate every time. And confirm your envelopes will accept your calligrapher's ink if you are hiring one — matte finishes and coated stocks do not always cooperate.

Bringing your own design to a commercial printer

These are commercial and trade printers, not wedding stationers. None of them designs an invitation suite, and none of them lists weddings as work they do — they are here because they will print a design you already own, usually well and usually for a fraction of a stationer's price. That makes them a real option if you have bought a template, hired a designer separately, or are printing menus, programs, table numbers and signage rather than the invitations themselves. Send a PDF and ask for a paper sample first: weight, finish and color vary far more between printers than price does.
