In Salt Lake City: Plan the driving into the coverage hours. With the ceremony in one city and the reception in another, and often a gap of several hours between them, your photographer is paid for travel and waiting as much as for shooting, so agree in writing what the middle of the day looks like and who is on the clock through it. Ask early and directly what access your ceremony site allows, because that varies site by site and is not a conversation you want on the morning. Light in the canyons also runs ahead of the posted sunset: the ridgeline takes the sun off a canyon floor while the valley is still bright, which is generous for portraits and unkind to a late outdoor ceremony. If any part of the day runs up a canyon in winter, ask whether the vehicle carrying the gear meets the traction requirement, because a second shooter turned back at the canyon mouth is coverage you paid for and did not get.
