Knoxville & the Smokies, Tennessee

Venue

In Knoxville & the Smokies: The market splits cleanly into two families -- a Knoxville-metro city circuit through Knoxville, Farragut, Maryville and Alcoa, and a Sevier County destination corridor running Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg out to Wears Valley and Townsend -- and treating them as one wedding market will cost you. The metro side draws on downtown industrial rooms, estate barns and University-adjacent halls; the Sevier corridor is a chapel-and-cabin economy, where a small mountain wedding routinely runs as a package with the officiant, license pickup, photography and a witness bundled by the chapel itself. A National Park ceremony inside Great Smoky Mountains -- a Cades Cove field, a Clingmans Dome overlook, a Newfound Gap turnout -- needs a Special Use Permit from the park, and the current fee, per-site group cap and rules on alcohol, decoration and photography are worth confirming directly with the park's wedding-permit office before you settle a date. Fall color weekends through October are the region's genuine peak.
