Cincinnati & Dayton, Ohio

Venue

In Cincinnati & Dayton: The single most important sentence in this annex is this one: the state your venue sits in is the state whose marriage license you need. This corridor crosses three of them. A venue in Cincinnati, Norwood, Blue Ash, Mason, West Chester, Middletown, Kettering, Beavercreek or Springfield is Ohio; a venue in Newport, Covington, Florence or Fort Thomas is Kentucky; a venue in Lawrenceburg is Indiana. Crossing the Ohio River for the reception does not change which state issued the license, and driving up I-75 from a Cincinnati ceremony to a Dayton reception does not change it either. Ask the venue which county it sits in before you touch a clerk's office. Bengals home Sundays and Reds home stands snarl downtown Cincinnati parking; the Dayton Air Show and UD Flyers home games move northern hotels; Kings Island seasonal closures affect the Warren County corridor between the two metros. River-level venues in Cincinnati, Newport and Covington can close in early spring when the Ohio River hits flood stage.
