Atlanta, Georgia

Flowers & Décor

In Atlanta: Heat and humidity are the local constraint, not cost. A long Georgia summer will wilt soft-stemmed blooms in an afternoon outdoors, so ask your florist which stems hold in it, keep arrangements in air conditioning until the last possible moment, and expect wax candles to bow in an uncooled tent. Spring brings the opposite problem: tree pollen settles on white linens, aisle installations and anything left standing outdoors overnight, so outdoor pieces want to go in late rather than early. The florists here sit mostly on the eastside and the northern arc, through Lawrenceville, Lilburn and Roswell, and in town. Moving ceremony arrangements to the reception is standard and saves buying them twice, but if your ceremony and your reception are on opposite sides of the metro, that repurposing is a second trip and a second labor charge. Get it priced rather than assumed.
