Atlanta, Georgia

Attire & Accessories

In Atlanta: Alterations are the local cost in time rather than money. The shops that surfaced here cluster in town and along the northern corridor through Alpharetta and Buford, with more south in Peachtree City, and three or four fittings means three or four crossings of a metro that does not move quickly at either end of the day. Book fittings mid-morning, and ask whether a shop keeps evening or weekend hours before you choose one on the far side of town. Fabric is the other local decision: a long humid summer and an outdoor ceremony argue for lighter weight, breathable linings, and a plan for a wedding party standing in direct sun. If you are marrying in spring, pollen and pale fabric do not agree, so keep garment bags closed until you are indoors at the venue.
