In Miami: Expect $150 to $450 a person, and make humidity the first thing you raise at the trial. This climate will test any application that was not built for it: an outdoor ceremony means heat, sea air and a breeze, and the products that survive all three are not the ones a stylist would reach for in a dry place. Ask specifically about long-wear and waterproof formulations, and about whether your hair is being set in a way that tolerates wind rather than fights it. Do the trial at roughly the hour you will actually be married, and outdoors if that is where you will be, because a look approved under indoor light at ten in the morning tells you very little about four in the afternoon. Confirm travel to your getting-ready location and whether touch-ups are included.

The trial is the whole game here. Book your stylist and makeup artist early, then do a trial a month or two out — with your actual accessories and a photo of your dress — so there are no surprises on the morning of. Confirm day-of timing (hair and makeup take longer than couples plan for), whether they travel to your getting-ready location, touch-up kits, and coverage for anyone else in the wedding party who wants it.
