Photography & Videography

In Denver: Two public-land rules decide where you can actually stand. The City of Boulder permits weddings, ceremonies, elopements and other stationary events on Open Space and Mountain Parks land only at designated shelters and facilities, and states that weddings are not typically allowed outside those facilities because of trampling vegetation and disturbing wildlife. Couples plan a Flatirons ceremony assuming a permit exists for it. A special use permit does not buy one, so the choice is a facility reservation or a different site. In the state parks, Colorado Parks and Wildlife states that a Special Activity Agreement or photography permit may be required to hold an event or group activity, and that wedding and special event photos taken by a professional portrait photographer may require a photography permit. Settle that before the timeline is built, and ask who is named on the permit. Portraits at a foothill site also mean driving back down afterward in the dark, so agree the end time and who is driving before the day.
