Riverside & the Inland Empire, California

Venue

In Riverside & the Inland Empire: Twelve venues are listed, five in Redlands and two in Corona, with one each in Riverside, Chino, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and San Bernardino, and 100-guest budgets run $4,500 to $22,000. Season is the first decision and it is not the one coastal advice would give you. Peak wedding season here is late September through May, and June and August are the least comfortable months for an outdoor ceremony, because the coastal marine layer does not reach the Inland Empire on most summer mornings and a Riverside afternoon runs fifteen to twenty degrees warmer than a coastal one that looks identical on a map. Late-summer heat at or above 105F arrives most years. If you are considering a foothill or mountain site, two separate rules apply: national forest land requires a Special Use Permit, and state recreation areas require an application filed weeks ahead. Fire restrictions can eliminate an outdoor ceremony on short notice, so ask any venue what its written plan is for a Red Flag day.
