Orange County, California

Mobile Bar / Servers

In Orange County: Bar service here is a short list, and it stays short because most bar work in this market is bundled into catering packages or handled in-house by the venue rather than booked as its own line. Retail alternatives are listed separately below, for couples buying their own alcohol and hiring a licensed bartender rather than a full-service company. Start with your venue's own rules, because several of Orange County's best-known outdoor sites restrict alcohol outright or require a separate permit for it: Crystal Cove requires its own alcohol waiver, priced by group size, for anyone 21 or older only, and Huntington Beach bans alcohol on its beach and pier entirely, whatever the event. If your site allows outside alcohol, get the corkage terms in writing and confirm your pourer is licensed and insured — a friend with a bottle opener is not a bar service, however willing they are.

Buying the beer, wine and spirits yourself

These are retail sources, not event services — nobody here staffs your bar. Where your venue allows it, buying the alcohol yourself and hiring a licensed bartender to serve it is usually the cheapest way to do this line. The rules vary by state, by county and by venue, so confirm what yours permits — and whether your setup needs its own permit — before you count on the saving.
